Shoppers lose it over ‘secret’ grocery store in Sydney with unbelievably low prices: ‘Why wouldn’t you gatekeep this?’

Budget-conscious Australians are excited about a little-known supermarket wholesaler Sydney‘s west thanks to the ‘incredibly low prices’.

Sydney food vlogger Rose Khater took her TikTok followers to what she calls ‘the cheapest wholesale supermarket in Sydney’: Westfresh Blacktown.

Rose was happy to share the once well-kept secret and told us about the delicious samples on arrival before stepping into the huge shop that has ‘everything’.

Meat, fruit, vegetables, seafood, ready meals, party meals, desserts, homewares and much more are sold at prices lower than Woolworths and Coles.

As she strolled the aisles, Rose showed off a 10-pound bag of fresh chicken that was on sale for $8.99 per kilogram.

There is also bulk steak and Scottish fillet that can be cut to order.

“The Westfresh outlet is on the same site as their huge factory, so you get great deals and products,” explains a former employee.

Rose spent hours collecting specially priced bulk items from the wide range.

Her followers agreed Westfresh was ‘an amazing experience’, with one Sydneysider saying he had been shopping at the store since it opened in January.

“Why would you disband Westfresh’s gatekeeper?” Another joked.

A Sydney mother showed off a significant amount of meat, eggs and vegetables, saying she shopped for her family of three at Westfresh all week and spent just $115.

Other customers said Westfresh’s bulk meat is perfect for those with large freezers who want to dramatically reduce the cost of feeding their families.

The Blacktown retailer isn’t just popular among locals, with some reporting driving in from other parts of Sydney for well-priced bulk shopping.

Although one reviewer said the meat was “not always the best quality,” he assured others it was “good enough” for the price.

Westfresh’s popular fried chicken restaurant offers a schnitzel meal, a hot and spicy burger, boneless fried chicken and thick Oreo shakes with whipped cream, all of which can be ordered on Doordash.

There is also a ‘cosy’ café serving fresh coffee and delicacies for those who want a bite to eat after shopping.

Westfresh is located at 25 Bessemer Street, Blacktown.

It is open Monday to Friday from 6am to 5pm and closes at 4pm on Saturday, but is closed on Sundays.

One savvy shopper avoids visiting on Saturdays, claiming the best deals are on weekdays.

As groceries become less affordable, consumers are increasingly venturing away from major supermarkets and are more willing to try alternative supermarkets in an effort to save money.

Aldi stores across Australia are also experiencing a surge in popularity, as their reputation as Australia’s cheapest supermarket lures cash-strapped Aussies.
