Police say a “resolution has been reached” after a four-year-old girl was taken from her mother at a busy Westfield shopping centre.
Officers said earlier on Monday An unknown woman approached the girl at a store in Westfield Eastgardens in Sydney at about 6.25pm, picked her up and carried her to a second store.
The girl’s mother took her daughter back after finding her in the second store, police said.
On Monday evening, police reported that officers had spoken to a 16-year-old girl about the incident.
Police are now confident that no criminal offence has been committed and that no further police action is required.
