A major incident takes place at a major shopping center in Sydney, with reports of a stabbing and at least one gunman on the loose.

Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is in lockdown following the incident on Saturday afternoon.

Panicked people were seen crossing the pedestrian bridge outside the center in a video posted to social media, while others said they were being evacuated from the center’s car park.

The police are on the scene en masse.

Ted Helliar, a local from the eastern suburbs, wrote on X: “Something has just happened at the Westfields Bondi junction.”

‘We were up there and suddenly people started running towards us. The next thing is dozens and dozens of people are all running screaming and some guy is yelling, ‘Someone’s stabbing everyone, get out of there.'”
