Ashlee Good’s husband forced to make impossible choice after Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing that killed wife
Ash Good’s husband was forced to make an unimaginable decision when his wife and baby were rushed to different hospitals following the stabbing in Bondi Junction.
Osteopath Mrs Good, 38, was shopping with her nine-month-old baby, Harriet, on Saturday afternoon when Joel Cauchi, 40, stabbed them with a 12-inch hunting knife.
Ms Good and five other innocent shoppers were tragically killed.
Following the stabbing, the mother was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital to undergo surgery, while her baby was taken to the Children’s Hospital in Randwick.
Mrs Good’s husband, Dan Flanagan, was forced to choose which hospital to go to first, and was fortunately able to see his wife before she succumbed to her injuries.
Shattered, Mr Flanagan was then taken in the police car to see his daughter, whose grandmother was there by her side. Daily telegram reported.
Harriet suffered stab wounds to her abdomen and has now been removed from intensive care.

a fundraising has since been established to support Mr Flanagan and his daughter. More than $540,000 has been raised.
Family and friends of Ms. Good visited the mall on Tuesday afternoon to lay flowers at the memorial to the victims.
A relative, wearing dark glasses and holding stuffed animals, was comforted by high-profile defamation lawyer Rebekah Giles, who was a close friend of Ms Good and had been with her shortly before the stabbing.
She had left the scene but ran back after news of the stabbing spread, only to discover her close friend was one of the victims.

Ms Good was one of six victims of crazed knifeman Cauchi, who was later shot dead by a female police officer.
Advertising heiress Dawn Singleton, 25, architect Jade Young, 47, artist Pikria Darchia, 55, security guard Faraz Tahir, 30, and Chinese student Yixuan Cheng, 27, died at the scene.
The horror started around 3:30 PM on Saturday, with shocking images of Cauchi running through the center armed with a large knife.
The nightmare ended when he was fatally shot by NSW Police Inspector Amy Scott, who confronted the killer alone.
