Western Bulldogs player Caleb Poulter and his girlfriend Sam Guggenheimer announce tragic family news: ‘He will forever be our little boy’
Caleb Poulter and his influencer girlfriend Sam Guggenheimer have lost their beloved kitten Douglas.
Sam announced the sad news in an Instagram post on Tuesday, revealing that their “little boy” had moved on.
“Heaven gained a little angel today,” wrote the Western Bulldogs player’s partner.
“Words cannot describe how much this little kitten has changed our lives in such a short time.
He filled a place in our hearts that we didn’t know was missing. He will forever be our little boy,” she continued.

“Thank you Douglas for being there with me these last two months, I didn’t know how much I needed you, you really saved me and showed me how to love and care for something as precious as you.
“I hope you have endless salmon treats up there, buddy, we love you and miss you already,” she concluded.
It comes after Caleb and Sam described his shocking reaction when he was cut by Collingwood last year.
Poulter, who was number 30 in the 2020 Draft, made just 12 appearances for Collingwood in 2021 and 2022 before being surprisingly dropped.
He has since been picked up by the Bulldogs in this year’s mid-season draw.

The 194cm left footer found out he was fired over the phone while on holiday in Bali with his partner Sam Guggenheimer, and the 20-year-old footy star didn’t take the news well.
“I came out (of the villa) and you were roaring, you were crying,” Guggenheimer said on the Just For Girls podcast.
“You just said ‘I’ve been cut’, those are the words you said ‘I’ve been cut, I’ve been cut’.”
Guggenheimer said the shocking news left Poulter “ghosting” everyone — including his Collingwood teammate and then-housemate Jack Crisp.

“You were really bad at communicating with people, you ghosted everyone, you ghosted your teammates, you ghosted Jack, you ghosted your coaches, you were like ‘f**k them’,” she said.
“I think you were kind of angry, you didn’t really have answers, nobody really answered your questions, so you were like ‘f**k this’ and you threw it all up.”
The young striker believes he ‘fell out of favour’ with Collingwood’s coaches – and he handled the matter the wrong way.
“I was obviously quite upset at the time. Instead of dealing with it the right way, I just stopped responding to everyone,” he said.
