West Ham have announced that midfielder Freddie Potts has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
Potts joined the club at the age of six and worked his way through the Hammers academy before making his first-team debut in December 2021, coming on as a substitute in the 1–0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League.
Last season, Potts made two appearances for David Moyes’ men, both en route to the East London club’s victory in the Europa Conference League, first in the group stage victory at FCSB and then in the second leg’s round of 16 against AEK Larnaka.
The 19-year-old was also part of the side that beat Fiorentina in the Final, where he took a winner’s medal.
After putting the new deal in writing, Potts told the official website that he wanted to take a chance for the first team before the new season.

“It’s a really good feeling to sign a new three-year contract,” Potts said.
“It is another positive step forward in my career.
I’ve been working towards this for a while and feel my performance for the 21s last season and being in and around the first team helped me get to this point. I’m just really excited to see how it all plays out for me over the next few years.”
Potts is the son of Hammers legend Steve Potts, who made over 500 appearances for the club in a span of 15 years, while older brother Dan is back in the Premier League with Luton having started his career at Upton Park.
