  • West Ham have been in talks about a £25m move for striker Terem Moffi
  • Bournemouth, whose owner has a stake in Lorient, are also interested in Moffi
  • French Nice joins the fight against the two Premier League teams

West Ham are facing a fight to sign target Terem Moffi from Ligue 1 Lorient.

Bournemouth, owned by Bill Foley, who has a stake in Lorient, is also interested after they have already agreed a £20m fee for the French club’s winger Dango Ouattara.

However, both Premier League teams face stiff competition with Nice who are also interested in Moffi.

It was previously reported that the Hammers held talks over a possible £25m deal for Moffi. The proposal is understood to be £20m with an additional £5m going to Moffi, a Nigeria international, who has scored 12 goals in 18 games this season.

Having arrived at the French club in 2020, the 23-year-old racked up 59 goals in 135 games and helped avoid relegation last season.

That experience could come in handy if he were to move to east London, as the Hammers are currently 18th in the Premier League after an alarming run.

David Moyes’ side are now winless in their last seven games, their last win coming against Bournemouth in October.

Bringing in a new striker with experience fighting on the wrong side of the table could be vital if the East London side are to turn their season around.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth are looking to bring in four players during the January transfer window.

They have a lead over the Hammers in the Premier League at least, with the Cherries one point outside the relegation zone in 17th place.
