West Ham’s chagrin is reportedly mounting over delays in pulling Declan Rice’s Arsenal over the line.

There have been delays for Arsenal’s lawyers in sorting out the relevant paperwork, leading the Hammers to hold off on signing the contracts – despite the £105m move being agreed in principle on June 28.

Arsenal are aiming to finalize the deal before they fly to the US on Sunday, Arsenal reported Sky Sports.

It appears the Gunners’ lawyers are deliberating on the exact terms of the deal.

Rice’s move will break the Gunners’ previous transfer record – a £72 million move for Nicolas Pepe in 2019 – and will be the second-biggest British move of all time, behind Enzo Fernandez’s £106.8 million move from Benfica to Chelsea in January.

In addition to Rice’s, Arsenal are expecting Jurrien Timber’s £40m move this week.

The 22-year-old Ajax defender, who played 15 times for the Netherlands, is seen as one of the best defensive forces on the continent.

On Monday, West Ham showed off their new home shirt for the 2023/24 season, but Rice was nowhere to be seen.

The Irons have explored the possibility of bringing in James Ward-Prowse to replace him. Southampton want 40 million pounds, but the London team thought more about 20 million pounds.
