A truck has caught fire on a major highway in Melbourne, causing major traffic disruptions.
Firefighters were called to a cement truck on fire near the inbound off-ramp to Todd Rd on the West Gate Freeway, in Port Melbourne, at about 1.10pm on Tuesday.
The inbound exit was closed due to the fire and two left lanes of the highway at the West Gate Bridge were also closed.
According to police, the driver of the truck, a 35-year-old man, was able to safely pull the vehicle over and was not injured.

Motorists are urged to use the Montague Street exit instead.
Footage posted on X shows the truck engulfed in flames and smoke as firefighters work desperately to bring the blaze under control.
According to the Department for Transport, there are ‘significant delays in entering the West Gate Freeway from the M80 Interchange’.
Motorists are warned to remain alert for smoke in the area.
The exact circumstances surrounding the fire have yet to be determined.
