West Coast Eagles star Reuben Ginbey has been charged by police after he was allegedly caught in public at a music event this weekend.

The Eagles published a statement on their club website, which also added that the 20-year-old defender did not follow police instructions.

“The West Coast Eagles report that AFL player Reuben Ginbey has been charged after he urinated in public at a music event on Saturday evening and failed to comply with WA Police directions by not providing his personal details,” the statement said.

Ginbey, who was recruited to the Eagles from East Perth in the 2022 national draft, will now appear in court on the matter later this month.

The Eagles added: “The Club has notified the AFL and, as the matter is now before the courts, will make no further comment at this time.”

According to Perth NowGinbey was training with some of his teammates at Mineral Resources Park on Monday.

Ginbey has played 40 AFL games for the club since his arrival.
