West Bromwich Albion’s Jayson Molumby punched an opponent in the face during a friendly against Mallorca.
The match behind closed doors descended into chaos at the end of the first half, when a row broke out between Molumby and Mallorca’s Samu Costa.
In a video on RedditMolumby can be seen carrying the ball before being challenged twice, the second time by Costa.
As the two come together, angry words are exchanged, but the argument turns violent when Molumby sticks his forehead in Costa’s face.
Costa retaliates by placing his hand on Molumby’s neck, but to his surprise the 24-year-old Irishman decides to punch Costa in the face with a clenched fist.

The two then end up on the ground, as teammates run towards them to put an end to the fight.
Because it was a friendly match, the referee did not show any player a red card, although Molumby was substituted at half-time.
It remains to be seen whether the club will take disciplinary action, but the footage was shocking because of the level of violence that seemed to come out of nowhere.
Molumby began his career at Brighton as a member of the youth system, going on to make five first-team appearances for the Seagulls.
He spent the 2019–20 season on loan at Millwall and the second half of the 2020–21 season at Preston.

Molumby has since made 103 appearances for the Baggies, scoring five goals and providing five assists in all competitions.
West Brom lost the friendly 1-0 to Albion, thanks to a second-half goal from David Lopez.
They have now lost twice in pre-season, to Bolton and Blackpool, and have won just once against Peterborough as they prepare for next season in the Championship.
