West Brom captain Jed Wallace presented his player of the match award to young fan Finlay in a heart-warming gesture on Saturday.
Wallace was considered the standout player as West Brom won 2-0 at home to high-flying Ipswich in the Championship.
After the match, Wallace was interviewed on Sky Sports alongside his teammate Darnell Furlong.
Furlong explained that Finlay, his teacher’s son, was celebrating his ninth birthday and was on hand to present Wallace with the award.
Wallace then told Finlay he could keep the award as a birthday present.

Furlong opened the scoring for West Brom against Ipswich when he found the net in the fifth minute.
West Brom’s second goal came early in the second half when Grady Diangana scored.
After the victory, West Brom are fifth in the Championship, with 29 points from 17 games.
Ipswich are now second and three points behind leaders Leicester.
Wallace joined West Brom on a free transfer in 2022 after leaving Millwall.
