Wendy Williams is being praised online by fans who claim the quirky talk show host has been warning the world about the alleged crimes of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for years.
Williams, 60, began trending on X, formerly Twitter, after it was revealed that the embattled rapper had been denied bail on ongoing human trafficking and extortion charges. Fans mourned the loss of her Hot Topics segment, in which she dished on the latest Hollywood news on The Wendy Williams Show.
Williams had been critical of the 54-year-old music mogul during her career as a radio and television presenter, with fans claiming she was one of the few stars who had been calling out his alleged antics “for decades.”
“Wendy Williams told us about Diddy decades ago,” wrote one X user. “The streets have been talking for a long time.”
Another agreed: “Wendy Williams has been telling you guys about Diddy for years.”

Combs, 54, was arrested Monday night in New York City after a grand jury indictment charged with sex trafficking and racketeering.
The Wendy Williams Show aired its final episode in June 2022 after 13 years, without Williams herself appearing.
She already withdrew from the show in 2021, taking a temporary hiatus due to health issues.
Some fans joked that if the star had still been on camera, she would have made it clear that her warnings were justified.
One fan tweeted: ‘She would have dedicated all the hot topics to Diddy while she sips her tea and gives us the sideways glance after she criticized and says “I told you so.”‘
Another added: ‘That lady in her purple chair gave us the right CONTENT with a dash of “I told you so”.’
“Don’t forget Wendy Williams told us exactly who Sean Combs was in 1998. 26 years ago!” read another comment.
One fan wrote: ‘I really miss Aunt Wendy Williams on days like today. No one did hot potato stuff like her. No one. I can almost hear her blow up at Puffy (Diddy) and tell us she told us.
“Because she always knew and she tried to tell us. Many times. I hope she’s doing better.”

The talk show host’s fans are desperate for her response to the allegations against Combs and the numerous lawsuits filed over the past year
Combs was ordered to jail Tuesday to await trial in his federal sex trafficking case, after a judge ordered him held without bail in a case in which he is accused of running a sordid sex crimes empire.
The music mogul has pleaded not guilty to racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges, accusing him of soliciting female victims and male sex workers to engage in drugged, sometimes days-long sexual performances called “Freak Offs.”
The indictment against him also alleged that he coerced and abused women for years, using blackmail and shocking acts of violence to keep his victims in line.
It indirectly referenced a videotaped attack on his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, which caused a stir when it was released in May.
More fans shared their sadness that Williams wouldn’t share her opinion on Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles, as one wrote, “Wendy Williams would have dedicated her entire hour to talking about Diddy and his mess. God I miss her. I hope she’s okay.”
Another said: ‘I wish Wendy Williams was still on TV before that Diddy arrest. She would have come on stage and stared at us for a whole minute like….’
“There’s only one person who can truly illuminate the complexity of @Diddy’s concerns. It’s Wendy Williams!” claimed one fan.

Another joked: ‘Today’s Wendy Williams episode would have had the highest ratings ever!!!!’
One fan said, “In this Diddy saga we need Wendy Williams in her purple chair and her hot potatoes.”
Another wrote: ‘I miss Wendy Williams and I hope she is doing well. Her show would have been so good during this Diddy takedown era…’
A fan added: ‘I really wish Wendy Williams still had a show because the celebrity drama that has happened this year alone… CRAZY. She would have had a field day with this Diddy s**t.’
Elsewhere, an X user imagines what Williams would say if he or she said, “Wendy Williams, if she was still in CLAP this morning, IF YOU THINK DIDDY DID IT.”
Another just hoped the star was well enough to know what was going on, writing: “I hope Wendy Williams knows what’s going on with Diddy today.”
Last year, it was reported that Williams had checked into a spa. Before that, a documentary titled Where Is Wendy Williams? revealed the full extent of her health and financial problems.
The project, which aired in February, was set to chronicle Williams’ life as she prepared to launch a new podcast. However, shocking scenes showing the former host drinking vodka in bed, being under financial guardianship and suffering panic attacks sparked a backlash from fans at the network.
Last year, Combs quickly settled a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, in which she alleged he had engaged in sex trafficking and abused her.
However, the mogul was arrested this week while staying at the Park Hyatt in Midtown Manhattan in connection with his federal sex trafficking case
This week it was revealed that Williams was paid “only $82,000” for the controversial Lifetime documentary.
Combs was a guest on The Wendy Williams Show in June 2017, where he spoke candidly about fatherhood and his love life, before deciding to praise Williams despite longstanding tensions between them.
Diddy said, “I have to say it’s been a long time coming, but I just want to say how proud I am of you. I don’t think people really understand that you were the first person to really cover hip-hop culture.
“You’ve given us a glimpse into our culture and our people, so thank you very much.”
Williams responded, “And with that in mind, I know I’ve p****d a lot of people, including you, but this is a moment for everyone to come full circle.”
Diddy has been a major figure in the hip-hop industry for the past three decades, working as a producer for artists such as Usher and Notorious B.I.G.
