Wednesday Lotto results: Wollongong man comes forward to claim $1million prize

A Wollongong man looking to buy his first home won $1 million in the Weekday Windfall draw on Wednesday.

The New South Wales native had one of two division one winning entries nationally, with each division one winning entry raking in $1 million.

When officials from The Lott called him to reveal the news, he said, “This is going to completely change my life. Honestly, this is life-changing.”

“It’s going straight to a house. I’ve worked hard to get my own place, but it’s so hard in the current market.

‘I can’t believe it. I’ve been so stressed about it, but this takes so much pressure off.

‘I had to tell my parents straight away – they also play the lottery every week. Mum started crying and Dad got straight to work and asked: what’s the next step?’

‘I’ve been through hell and back the last few years. They know all about it, so they’re over the moon for me.

The winning numbers were 7, 12, 43, 8, 32 and 22, while the additional numbers were 18 and 45.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for over 20 years. They’re birthdays and special dates and I’ve always used them because they usually give me a small profit,” the Wollongong man said.

There were two division one winners in the Weekday Windfall draw 4435 across Australia, one in New South Wales and one in Victoria.
