The wedding menu that put 80 guests in hospital and left more than 100 people vomiting is revealed – as one attendee says men and women were given different food, but all ended up sick
A guest at a wedding reception revealed the four-course meals that left more than 100 guests terribly ill and 80 people hospitalized.
Aranza Rodríguez attended the ceremony in the central city of Cuernavaca, Mexico, on Saturday evening and was rushed to a Red Cross hospital where she was treated for a bacterial infection.
Rodríguez told Mexican newspaper Proceso that she was a guest of the groom Fernando, whose wedding party started around 4 p.m. and dinner was to be served at 6 p.m.
She recalled arriving at the wedding venue between 8 and 9 p.m. and noticing that many of the guests were experiencing “worsened symptoms,” including headaches, stomach pain, vomit and diarrhea.
Despite the disturbing scene, Rodríguez placed her meal order and was dining around 10 p.m. when the ambulances arrived.

Rodríguez remembered being served wild mushrooms with goat cheese and tomato coulis as an appetizer.
As a main course she had chicken fillet filled with spinach, tarragon and sweet potato puree and winter asparagus. She said male guests were served a different selection of food items, including meat with a whiskey sauce as the main course.
Although she isn’t sure which of the meals made her sick, she remembers that the wild mushrooms had the aftertaste of a “very strong chemical.” She remembers the same smell after she was sick.
Footage on social media showed the frantic moment as paramedics, staff and healthy attendees provided aid to sick guests.
In one video, at least two women sat hunched over a chair, as if they had thrown up.
Another video showed several guests lying on hospital beds receiving IV treatment.

An image of the menu revealed that guests were served an appetizer of wild mushrooms with goat cheese and tomato coulis, as well as beet carpaccio with mango and pico de gallo.
The starter consisted of sun-dried tomato cream and crispy goat cheese with chives and a dry cream of pistachio and pears. The main course consisted of chicken fillet filled with spinach, tarragon, sweet potato puree and winter asparagus.
The second choice was a tenderloin breaded with whiskey and almond sauce, vegetable skewer and a bed of potatoes.
For dessert, the couple’s friends received an apple rosette with supreme lime, blossom ice cream, chocolate and walnut cheesecake melon or milk flower shirt.
While men and women were served different foods, both sexes became ill, she said.
A viral TikTok video showed a paramedic standing next to the wedding invitee, hunched over a chair, while one person desperately used folded paper as a fan to help him or her cool down.
Nearby, another woman who appeared visibly ill sat as a man comforted her.
Concerned guests could also be seen wandering around the entrance to check on some other sick guests.
Others stood next to an ambulance as a paramedic spoke to a man trying to get into the vehicle.

She was prescribed intravenous fluids and medications to treat the bacterial infection.
She added that Fernando and the bride, Paola, provided assistance to the sick guests.
