Wedding makeup artist slammed for overstaying her welcome – after she ‘gatecrashed’ the reception and CRIED in front of the bride

A make-up artist has been criticised for staying too long at a wedding, with the event planner having to remove her from the venue after she ‘made the decision’ to stay and film content for social media, which she was not asked to do.

Makeup artist Kexiah, owner of luxury makeup and hair company The Key Look, worked a wedding in New York City earlier in September, where she and her team did the hair and makeup for a bride and her bridesmaids.

The wedding ended in tears after Keziah was asked to leave by the wedding planner. The bride and groom told her that they thought the make-up artist had stayed too long. However, she returned a short time later to continue filming.

In a series of now deleted TikToks, The New Jersey-based makeup artist tearfully recounted what happened on the big day, describing it as “so f**ked up.”

Unfortunately, the internet was not on her side.

“I was so excited about the content we were going to get for her that I kept filming,” Kexiah shared in a video. “I also wanted to share some BTS on our social media.”

The makeup artist added that the bride had told her she would be hiring a content creator for her wedding, so she “decided” to stay the entire day and film content – something social media users find unacceptable.

Kexiah, who said in the videos that she “clicked” with the bridal party and that there were no problems, said the makeup artists were booked an extra two hours to touch up the photos at the wedding venue.

“I went for full makeup and full content, guys,” the makeup artist said,

“I had everyone laughing all morning,” she claimed. “There was literally no [dull] moment all day.’

Kexiah claimed that ‘everyone kept telling me that I had to stay for the wedding because it would be so much fun and I brought so much good energy.

“I told them I don’t know when I’m leaving but we’re booked to come to the location. I also told them I’m going to continue filming,” she shared.

According to Kexiah, she tried to get some footage of the bride and groom during the reception, but then he got mad and said he didn’t want her filming TikToks.

Commentators couldn’t believe their eyes at the audacity of the makeup artist, most of whom agreed with the couple’s decision to ask her to leave.

Then an assistant planner came up to her and told her that the happy couple wanted her to leave.

“What did I do?” she said. “I’m just so confused.”

The makeup artist said she was about to “burst into tears” and leave, but decided to pull the bride aside before she could do so.

‘[I said to her] “I understand that you and your husband want me to leave,” she said, repeating several times that she was “confused.”

“I didn’t do anything to anyone, I’m so confused,” she said.

‘[I said] thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding day [but] “I’ll go ahead,” she added, adding that she had seen a guard nearby.

“It was so embarrassing and so weird,” she said. “I literally did nothing to anyone at this wedding.”

Kexiah said the bride “apologized” for what happened, but found the whole experience “crazy, unacceptable and disrespectful.”

“What did you do to me, it was really bad,” she said angrily.

According to reposts on the original TikTok, Kexiah was seen crying in her car after the wedding, saying she had “never” been kicked out of an event.

In the comments from family members and bridesmaids – which were shared by TikTok user Alexandra Bueno – other wedding suppliers were strongly against the makeup artist.

“I was the content creator and coordinator at her wedding on September 6th. I have never been so frustrated with a wedding vendor in my life,” they said.

A comment reportedly from a bridesmaid from the original video read: ‘So again, this is CRAZY. To have this content online, plus your disrespectful story about my best friend’s wedding. AND to have comments deleted is WILD!’

“The bride is actually my sister. Shame on you for even posting this,” read another comment. “If you have to deal with it, don’t use someone else’s wedding to do it.”

Commentators couldn’t believe the audacity of the makeup artist, most of whom agreed with the couple’s decision to ask her to leave.

‘Oh god it was so hard to watch AS SHE CRIED AT THE BRIDE!!!! She’s a stranger to them,’ one user raged.

‘As a makeup artist/hairstylist, I stay for a few photos of the bride to get her ready and then I leave. I might stay for a few moments to help put on a veil when she gets her dress on, but then I leave right away.

“She’s not good at reading social cues,” argued another. “I doubt anyone explicitly told her to ‘stay.’ Instead, they were nice about her being there and she interpreted it as everyone having a good time.”

DailyMail.com has contacted Kexiah and the bridal party for comment.
