Wedding curry ends in death: Terrified caterer, 22, dies after plunging into a well while fleeing angry guests who attacked him over his ‘insufficient supply’ of mutton during an Indian ceremony

A wedding in India took a dark turn this week when angry attendees attacked a caterer for offering curries before he faced his death.

The 22-year-old, identified as Krishna Kumar, was thrashed by guests angry over the ‘insufficient supply’ of mutton curry at the ceremony in Jharkand state. Local media reports.

The dish was in high demand, and after guests gorged themselves on it, Kumar reportedly told them he could no longer serve portions.

This sparked anger among members of the wedding party, who reportedly launched an attack on the catering staff.

While making a desperate attempt to escape, Kumar ran away, fell into a well and died, police said.

His body was reportedly discovered on Wednesday morning after the wedding party took place the previous Thursday.

The incident happened around 1.30 am that night in Huppu village, about 65 kilometers from the state capital Ranchi.

Following a post-mortem examination, the young man’s family received his body shortly afterwards.

A criminal complaint has been filed against the host and the two fathers of the bride and groom.

Police at Gola police station are investigating the death but say no arrest has been made yet.

Earlier this year, a 15-year-old girl also lost her life after falling into a well in India.

The teenager and her 19-year-old sister were attacked by monkeys while working on the terrace of their home.

They then plunged into the dry well in Nai Nagla town of Uttar Pradesh, leaving both of them with serious injuries. The younger sister unfortunately died in hospital shortly afterwards.
