Webfishing players use in-game guitar for pop music ‘concerts’
Web fishing is one of my favorite games at the moment. It’s a fishing game, so you’ll do a lot of fishing, but there are also lots of other activities for you and your friends. As you explore the island, you can dress up cute animal characters, gamble virtual money with scratch cards and decorate parts of the world with chalk. It also has a guitar you can play, and since its release in October, musically talented players have been using this in-game guitar to perform virtual concerts and cover popular songs from bands like Green Day, Radiohead, and Blink-182.
The item is surprisingly refined and emulates a real instrument. You can pluck individual strings, save chord presets, and strum chords. I’m not a musician, so I used it to play random notes in the background while my friends did their best to focus on fishing. But some players have become so good at playing the in-game guitar that they perform acoustic covers of real songs Web fishing and share clips online. Here’s a video of a person – er, I mean dog – with ‘No Surprises’ by Radiohead.
This person went all out and recorded four different parts to recreate Blink-182’s ‘I Miss You’.
All in all, it’s cool to see people so excited about using just one item in the game. The creator, Lamedeveloper, went to great lengths to make just one item so complex. (I would happily run around making random strumming sounds!) The guitar has become so popular that one person created it software that uses the MIDI audio files for the instrument to make it easier to replicate the sound, without having to play it directly in the game using the somewhat clunky user interface.
So if you’re musically inclined – or just the type who likes to hang out with friends – you might want to check it out Web fishing on Windows PC.
