We think Lucy Letby killed our babies too: Two more mothers say a murderous nurse was present when they were in hospital with their children

  • Emily Morris and another unnamed mother have raised new concerns about Letby
  • They claim their babies spent time with the nurse before they died in the hospital

Two more mothers are urging police to investigate Lucy Letby further, fearing she may have also killed their children, an investigation has found.

The heartbroken families claim they ‘do not believe (they) have had justice’ as both their babies died shortly after staying with the murderous nurse at Countess of Chester Hospital.

These new charges come just days after Letby was sentenced to 14 life sentences following the murder of seven newborns and the attempted murder of six others.

Now among the other anxious mothers is Emily Morris, who claims Letby was in the room before her month-old son died suddenly. according to The Telegraph.

While Alvin was diagnosed with the genetic condition muscular dystrophy (MD), doctors were reportedly confident it was mild and his condition was improving.

But the child passed away suddenly in February 2013 after reportedly spending time with the now-convict nurse.

‘She was in the room the day he died,’ Ms Morris told the publication, ‘and a few hours later he just died. That’s why in my heart I still think she did something to him.”

The 35-year-old parent even claims Letby signed a baptismal record for Alvin when he was baptized at the hospital, with the message: “To Alvin, with love on your special day, Lucy x.”

During the coverage of Letby’s trial, another unnamed mother also expressed her fears about the nurse’s possible involvement in her baby’s death.

Her baby daughter – known only as ‘M’ – was checked in hospital and treated with antibiotics after being born via emergency c-section in 2015.

Although doctors said M’s progress was encouraging, she died two days later of an unusual heart defect and lung failure.

“I can’t say for sure if she is responsible, but the whole situation always seemed weird to me because the whole pregnancy was fine and no one said anything was wrong with my daughter,” the mother said.

Amid these new allegations, Cheshire Police have assured they are determined to carry out a ‘thorough investigation’ into Letby.

Their efforts are also supported by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust.

Letby is the fourth woman to be given a lifetime assignment, following Myra Hindley, Rose West and triple murderer Joanna Dennehy.

In his sentencing ruling earlier this week, Judge Goss said Letby displayed a “morbid fascination” with seriously ill children and inflicted “acute pain” as they desperately fought for life.

He told the court: “You acted in a manner that was completely contrary to the normal human instincts of feeding and caring for babies and a gross violation of the trust that all citizens place in those who work in the medical and care sector. The babies you hurt were born prematurely and some risked dying, but in both cases you hurt them on purpose, with the intention of killing them.”

The judge said Letby, who was not present, would be given copies of his comments and the personal statements of her victims’ families.

He said only Letby knew what had prompted her to embark on a “cruel, calculated and cynical campaign of infanticide,” noting that she had “cold-bloodedly denied any responsibility for your misdeeds.”

The judge said the nurse prided herself on her professionalism, allowing her to harm children without suspicion, demonstrating “maliciousness bordering on sadism.”

He said she used tactics such as attacking babies when other staff were on breaks before keeping medical records as “morbid records” of her attacks.
