An American couple who moved to Oxford have revealed the various reasons why they didn’t want to live in London.

Helena and Michael Sula lead a life of adventure and are constantly packing their belongings and finding a new place to call home.

Recently, the lovebirds moved from Dallas, Texas, to Oxford, United Kingdom, and documented their journey on their TikTok to their more than 274,000 followers.

And although London is the capital of England, the couple chose the less populated city because they wanted to live “somewhere smaller” and the rising cost of living.

In a clip, which has been viewed more than 30,000 times so far, Helena revealed why she and her husband decided not to move to London.

She captioned the video: “I love London, I just knew it wasn’t for me.”

“London has just been voted the best city in the world, this is why we chose not to live there,” the travel blogger said at the start of the segment.

She started by saying that the couple wanted to live somewhere smaller.

London has a population of 9,648,000, while Oxford has a population of 162,222, according to the Overview of the world population.

Helena also raved about transport in Oxford, which is about an hour’s drive from London.

“Oxford is also cycling friendly, so we can get everywhere we need to go by bike,” she said, showing a video of the couple cycling around the county.

Helena noted that London’s public transport system was busy and that the ‘overall cleanliness was not great.’

At the end of the clip she said: ‘I think London is incredible, that’s why I chose to move to Oxford, a city close to London. It’s just not for me.’
