Watch this: Marvel’s first trailer for its immersive Apple Vision Pro app just landed
Do you have an Apple Vision Pro and wish you could fight alongside Marvel superheroes and possibly battle villains like Thanos? Well, Marvel Studios grants your wish and allows you to open portals with the wave of your hand and even participate in battles.
What if…? – A compelling storythat combines augmented and mixed reality, will be released as an app on the Apple Vision Pro on May 30, 2024. Plus, it’ll be free for a limited time, and we’ll all get a first look at it thanks to the first trailer drop.
If you’ve looked What if…? on Disney Plus or if you’ve seen a Marvel movie, you’ll probably be right at home. As the trailer shows, “The Watcher” will stand full-size in your living room and ask for your help to fight variants from the Marvel Universes and even search for various Infinity Stones using numerous spells courtesy of Master Wong.
Thanks to the vibrant, bright 4K displays on Apple Vision Pro and advanced camera settings, you’ll be transported and fully immersed into worlds from the Marvel Universe, and you’ll see elements like portals and characters appear in your home space. The Marvel Studios and ILM Immersive teams have also taken advantage of Vision Pro’s various capabilities and will utilize eye and hand tracking.
From the trailer, the experience looks quite fun. It’s likely to be a big hit with Marvel fans who have the Apple Vision Pro headset – and what’s more, it’ll be free for a limited time. If What if…? – A compelling story is Disney Plus’ first immersive story, it features characters, storylines and even locations from the show and introduces new ones.
The story lasts a full hour, and there may be some replayability as it seems to follow the path of a choose-your-own-adventure, with several storylines that you may end up playing through.

Marvel Studios What if…? – A compelling story will launch on May 30, 2024 exclusively for the Apple Vision Pro.
It will be a separate app to download from Disney Plus and will be “a free app for a limited time,” according to the release. Of course, you’ll also need Apple’s $3,500 (about £2,750 / AU$5,270) spatial computer.
