A wrong tee shot from Sam Burns in the third round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship led to an outburst of anger from the golfer on Saturday afternoon.
Burns, ranked No. 33 in the world, saw his tee shot on the ninth hole travel 335 yards, but well to the left.
The golfer then hit the ball hard again, throwing his driver to the ground in anger.
This caused the club head to completely separate from the shaft, which flew off.
Burns then grabbed the head of his driver, tapped it to his caddie and played with a club the rest of the day.

He made double bogey on the 446-yard par-4 hole.
After being thrown sideways into the fairway, Burns’ third shot sailed dangerously over a pond and landed just short of the green. Burns then lost his chip on his fourth shot before rolling his second chip (fifth shot) within 13 inches of the hole.
To end his suffering, he made a double bogey and finished his first nine holes with a tournament score of ten under.
He also finished the day with a score of ten under par, after making three birdies and three bogeys on the back nine.
Burns is currently tied for fourth place in the tournament with Scottie Scheffler ahead of the final round on Sunday.
Burns is seven strokes behind leader Hideki Matsuyama, who played the best round of the day to finish six under par. He is now 17 under par for the tournament.
The FedEx St. Jude Championship is the first tournament in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and features a field of 70 players.
That number will be reduced to 50 players for the next round of the BMW Championship, which this year will be held at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado.
