The Friday broadcast of ‘Speak’ on Fox Sports 1 took an interesting turn when an earthquake shook the studio as the program aired.
The incident happened while host Joy Taylor was previewing Super Bowl LVIII with former NFL players LeSean McCoy, Emmanuel Acho and James Jones. As Taylor discussed the stakes of Sunday’s game for Patrick Mahomes, an earthquake rattled through Southern California and caused the cameras on the set to rock back and forth.
The panel looked around and seemed confused as the studio shook for a few seconds. However, Taylor remained collected and continued with the segment.
“We are dealing with an earthquake, it’s okay. Yeah, it’s an earthquake, that’s what happens,” Taylor said calmly before resuming the conversation.
The experts immediately responded to their experience with Acho, joking that Taylor was “shaking the earth” with her opinions.

Panelist Emmanuel Acho joked that Taylor “shook the earth” with her Super Bowl shot
“Joy Taylor is shaking the earth here,” Acho exclaimed. ‘Quite literally, the lights in the studio started to shake. The whole stage started to shake. You could see the cameras starting to shake.
“We were all confused about what the hell was going on.”
Taylor said Mahomes needs to win in Las Vegas and earn his third ring to be in the same conversation as Tom Brady. Once the earthquake subsided, she added that a third title will make this Chiefs team a dynasty and put Mahomes on track to capture Brady’s seven titles.
The earthquake occurred at 1:47 pm PT and had a magnitude of 4.6 according to the Geological Survey of the United States. The USGS also reported that about 16 tremors struck the Los Angeles area within an hour of the first earthquake.
However, this didn’t stop Taylor from sharing her thoughts on Sunday’s big game.
