The performer finished his routine with his pants around his ankles as he flew through the air
But he avoided even more humiliation by somehow completing his backflip before pulling up his pants
But when he tried to end his routine with a backflip – spinning in the air – the cheerleader’s pants fell to his ankles.
Unfazed, he managed to land the move and pull up his pants before running off the field to applause from the stands – and gasps from his teammates.
The images went viral and led to hilarious reactions on social media. “(He) picked a good day not to go commando,” wrote one user on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“It’s a good thing he was wearing clean underwear,” another added.
Some supporters offered advice to other cheerleaders who planned to follow his lead. “Pull string is a must when doing somersaults in front of 40,000 people,” one person wrote.
