- A young couple was left with a red face near the cricket
- A cameraman panned to the pair at the MCG
- Embarrassed, the young man hurriedly left the room
A young couple were left red-faced after appearing to be caught in a compromising position at cricket on Thursday.
Fans at the MCG went into hysterics after an eagle-eyed cameraman panned to the pair, who were lying together alone at the top of the stadium.
After seeing themselves on the big screen, they jumped from their seats in the Ponsford Stand. Seemingly embarrassed, he put his head in his hands and pulled his hoodie over his head as he hurried outside.
The woman turned away from the camera's view.
“Maybe they're embarrassed or maybe they're not officially boyfriend and girlfriend,” Aussie Test great Greg Blewett speculated on Triple M Cricket.

SEN Cricket commentator Adam Collins suggested the young couple would not want the footage to 'go around the world'.
“Two 16-year-olds briefly kissing and hugging each other flashed on the screen and immediately covered their faces,” he said.
'They're clearly not supposed to be kissing and hugging back there in the Ponsford Stand and the whole crowd has risen as one for them.
“And one of their friends – I assume it's one of their friends – got run over and gave a dig on camera.
“Here they are for the second time and they realize, 'Oh no.' And now the young guy walks down the stairs with a sweater over his face. Another standing ovation from the audience.'
According to the MCG, 39,802 fans attended day three of the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne's iconic stadium, with Australia occupying a dominant position over Pakistan having already won the first Test in Perth.
