Watch postal worker’s shocking act in a dumpster – as USPS speaks out

Footage has been captured of the wild moment a Tennessee mailman grabbed mail from his truck and brazenly threw it into a dumpster.

In the shocking video, uploaded to TikTok on Saturday, a USPS worker can be seen unloading boxes of mail from his truck and then throwing them into the trash.

The concerned resident, who recorded the footage from a window of her home, said in shock about the footage: ‘This postman is throwing people’s mail in the trash.’

The footage has been viewed millions of times in just two days. A Nashville postal worker has since been suspended and the local Office of Inspector General is investigating the incident.

A new video captured the wild moment a Tennessee postal worker took mail from his truck and brazenly threw it into a dumpster

The video shows the person, who appears to be a USPS worker, picking up bins full of mail and throwing it into the dumpster.

“He’s throwing mail — federal mail — in the trash,” the shocked TikToker said, captioning it, “Federal crime happening right before my eyes.

Then he walked back to the trash can and appeared to arrange the trash in a way that would better hide the mail.

“Oh my God,” the woman recording the video said in horror. “People are sending in their checks and bills.”

She explained that the postman originally had two bins in the front of the truck, both of which he emptied into the container.

“Now he’s emptying the contents of the trunk,” she said.

At this point, the unknown worker could be seen leaning against the back of the mail truck. He then exited the vehicle with another box full of mail, moving back and forth between the two containing numerous pieces of mail.

“Don’t tell me this is legal. Please don’t tell me this is what you do to get rid of email,” the TikToker said

As the alleged postal worker walked from his truck to the dumpster, he looked over his shoulder, apparently afraid he would be seen.

The woman recording the video saw this and said, “He’s looking around to make sure no one is watching.”

“He keeps watching to make sure no one is watching,” the TikTokker said.

She added: “But I look… I look really good.”

In the comments, countless viewers expressed their horror at what they had seen.

People live through the [postal] system. They get their medical supplies in the mail. I can’t imagine watching this,’ one commenter noted.

“Seniors waiting for their medications in the mail,” another user wrote with a frowning emoji.

One employee has since been placed on non-duty status and the local Office of the Inspector General is investigating the incident.

A former USPS employee said, “I worked for USPS.

“They warned me during training that if we were caught doing this, we would end up in jail.”

“Someone is always watching. Even when we think they aren’t,” someone else noted.

In the comments, the original poster also noted that she shared the video with her local postmaster.

According to the U.S. ZIP Code, a mail carrier who abandons the mail will be “fined…or imprisoned for up to one year, or both.”

In 2020, a New Jersey postal worker similarly dumped mail from his route into multiple dumpsters, and was charged with, among other things, delaying mail delivery.

Then she corrected herself.

“I can believe it because there have been times when I didn’t get my mail, and now I understand.”

“He keeps watching to make sure no one is watching,” said the TikToker who posted the video
