Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois let their fists do the talking and it was clear to see during their final press conference on Thursday night, which was painfully awkward.
Joshua and Dubois will fight in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night for the latter’s IBF heavyweight title. The tension between the two is growing.
They were set to fight with promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren when the fight was announced in June, but the bout was called off after Joshua threatened Dubois with a chair because he felt his opponent was disrespecting him.
On Thursday, Joshua was asked to explain why he got angry at Dubois, but before he had a chance to answer, Dubois interrupted him.
“This is what happens. This is boxing. We fight on Saturday. Come on,” Dubois said.

Tensions between the two have been rising ahead of their clash at Wembley on Saturday
Joshua appeared slightly surprised before replying, “Like I said,” prompting laughter from the media in attendance.
He continued: ‘At the press conference I just think you should never give anybody an inch, because then they’ll take a mile. You know what I mean, Dan?’
Dubois seemed to be in his own little world as there was a few seconds of silence that felt like an eternity before he realized he had been asked a question and hesitantly replied, “Excuse me?”
There was more laughter from the audience when Joshua ended the conversation by simply saying, “That’s it.”
Fortunately, the time for talking is almost over and the British duo will be able to settle the score in the ring on Saturday evening.
Both men appear to be in top condition and will take stock on Friday afternoon before trading blows this weekend.
Joshua is looking to follow in the footsteps of boxers like Muhammad Ali and Lennox Lewis by becoming a three-time heavyweight champion, while Dubois gets the chance to prove he belongs at the top of the division by defending his first title.
