The Hobart Hurricanes' innings against Melbourne Renegades got off to a bizarre start after the ball got stuck in the roof of Marvel Stadium.
After a slow start to his batting, Hurricanes opener Ben McDermott went to work with a huge six that flew into the air at Melbourne's stadium.
The cameraman had difficulty catching the flight of the ball and after looking at the fielders below it became clear that there might be a problem.
When the roof of the Melbourne arena was closed, the ball landed in the steelworks in incredible scenes.
“It didn't come down!” Mark Hudson said on Fox Cricket.

Adam Gilchrist added: “That was a monster! It's stuck in the roof, they better be careful when they open it in the morning.'
The umpire gave a six for the lofted bat, although batters will no longer be automatically awarded maximum points for hitting the roof under changes to Cricket Australia's playing conditions this season.
McDermott's rocket shot had to be deemed to be on its way over the boundary for the referee to award six points.
The Renegades had previously overcome a slow start and put together a competitive 4-147 as Jordan Cox led the recovery.
The Renegades had crawled to just 56 runs from their first twelve overs until Cox got their innings going with a huge six in the surge.
The England batsman was the main aggressor in a critical 66-run stand with Jonathan Wells for the fourth wicket until he bowled a faster ball from Riley Meredith (1-34) to Chris Jordan at mid-off.
Wells (38 not out) put his foot down from there to steer the under-fire Renegades to a total they hope to defend against a side that has a tendency to struggle on the road.
The Hurricanes had the hosts on the ropes from the opening moment when Tim David dismissed. Shaun Marsh was caught behind for a duck to complete a wicket maiden.

South African star Quinton de Kock (20) looked set to revive the Gades' innings in his final BBL match this season until he gave up his wicket with a timid cut to deep point.
Rising star Jake Fraser-McGurk (26) was next to make a solid start but after hitting a powerful boundary, he was out next ball after picking Jordan long on.
Hobart left-arm spinner Patrick Dooley (0-16) was key to restricting the Renegades' top order, delivering fifteen dot balls in four tight overs.
David was not called on to bowl a second over despite claiming one scalp without conceding a run to start the match.
The Gades went into the match without captain Nic Maddinson, with Will Sutherland taking the reins instead.
Former Australian one-ball skipper Aaron Finch was also left out of the XI.
Finch announced before the match that this season will be his last in the BBL as the second highest points scorer in the history of the competition ends his career.
The Hurricanes are four points behind the Sydney Sixers (third) and the Melbourne Stars (fourth), but had two games in hand ahead of their clash with the Renegades as they look to keep pace with the top four.
