Footage appears to show former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton involved in a nasty brawl with a group of men.

Video clips, which have flooded social media, appear to show the 34-year-old fending off several attackers, trading punches before staff and security intervene.

In the footage, a man – believed to be Newton – tries to fend off several men, one of whom swings a punch in the quarterback’s direction.

According to reportsthe battle took place during a 7-on-7 soccer tournament at the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Georgia.

It is believed Newton, who last played for the Panthers in 2021, was attending an event organized by his foundation – C1N – which hosts 7-a-side football across the country.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the attack. DailyMail.com has contacted Newton’s representatives for comment.

Newton, now 34, a former Heisman Trophy winner, was selected by Carolina with the first overall pick of the 2011 NFL draft.

He joined the New England Patriots in 2020 before returning to the Panthers the following year.

The quarterback was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player for 2015, a few months after he was involved in a fight with Panthers teammate Josh Norman during training camp.
