Watch as motorist hits ramp full speed, flies 120ft and crashes into car in front

Watch a female motorist fly 130 feet in the air before flipping over and crashing back into another car, but miraculously survives after crashing full force into a tow truck ramp, as near-horror impact is captured on cop’s bodycam

  • Bodycam footage from the sheriff’s deputy captured the moment a vehicle flipped over in midair
  • The 21-year-old driver was seriously injured, but survived and was taken to hospital

This is the astonishing moment when a motorist flipped his car after hitting the ramp of a tow truck at full speed before crashing 120 feet through the air into a vehicle in front.

The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that a Tallahassee woman was seriously injured in the crash on Highway 84, but miraculously survived.

Bodycam footage from a Lowndes County sheriff’s deputy, who was present at the time of an accident on the opposite side of the road, captured the dramatic moment of the collision.

The deputy sheriff rushed to help the 21-year-old driver, who was thankfully transported to South Georgia Medical Center after the crash near Valdosta, GA, last week.

In the video, the deputy can be seen walking along the stopped highway on the other side while attending to a separate accident.

What is the Switching Act?

The Move Over Law requires drivers to drive in one lane whenever possible when an emergency vehicle is parked on the shoulder of a highway.

If traffic is too busy to do so safely, cars are instead expected to slow down to the posted speed limit – and be prepared to pull over.

In Georgia, motorists can be fined $500 for breaking the law.

30 states have Move Over Laws on the books with penalties ranging up to thousands of dollars.

A black car passes as a worker in a fluorescent jacket steps in front of the stopped truck.

But without warning, the driver in the gray car hits the back of the truck, ripping off a large portion of the front bumper.

The car then spins through the air, turning on its side and appearing to hit the black car in front of it in the right lane.

The deputy sheriff runs to help the young driver as he radios the accident.

Debris is scattered across the road and seen in the grass as the cop runs on.

The clip drops out as the driver approaches the car and shows the extent of the damage to the front of the rolled-up car.

Local point of sale WCTV said the incident had drawn attention to Georgia’s relocation law, which requires drivers to slow down and change lanes when approaching an emergency vehicle, including a tow truck.

A police incident report said the car “jumped” about 100 feet over the tow truck after launching from the driveway.

The cause of the accident on the other side of the road is not clear.

It was not clear whether the driver would be prosecuted for the accident.
