Just under a month after Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde’s Avengelyne first made waves, the project has a new studio home at Warner Bros.
The project was first announced in early April, with Robbie set to star in the comic book adaptation by Rob Liefeld (Deadpool) and produce through her LuckyChap company.
Wilde was also set to direct, with the original report stating that the project was headed to auction for the rights.
Now it’s being reported that a seven-figure deal is being finalized for Warner Bros. to join the company. Deadline report that most deals have already been closed.
The project brings Robbie back to Warner Bros., the studio where she made the blockbuster Barbie and where her company LuckyChap has an overall first look deal.

The latest report also reveals that Poor Things screenwriter Tony McNamara has signed on to write the script, based on Liefeld’s comic book.
This is the second major deal for the studio this week, after landing another seven-figure deal for a Chris Farley biopic starring Paul Walter Hauser and director Josh Gad.
According to this report, this deal with Avengelyne would be bigger than the biopic deal with Farley.
Avengelyne was created by Liefeld in 1995, based on the likeness of former Vampirella model Cathy Christian.
The comic was published by Maximum Press and was also inspired by Ben Dunn’s Warrior Nun Areala, which was adapted into the Warrior Nun Netflix series.
The character is described as an angel who fights the forces of evil and regularly comes into contact with demons and other nefarious creatures.
Although she single-handedly took on the devil himself, she was also banished from heaven after being tricked into questioning his love for humans.
Now she spends her time on Earth fighting demons, and is considered the world’s last hope to avert Armageddon.

Olivia was spotted later on Tuesday wearing a gray short-sleeved shirt and skin-tight dark gray leggings as she left the Tracy Anderson Method Studio in LA after a workout session.
She donned a pair of comfortable black sneakers and easily carried a tan and red-colored tote bag during the day.
Producer Simon Kinberg reportedly brought Liefeld’s Avengelyne comics to Robbie, resulting in this popular project.
Liefeld, best known for his Deadpool and X-Force comics, revealed in a statement to Variety“This incredibly humbling journey to bring Avengelyne to life on screen.
He said the project “began through my relationship with super producer Simon Kinberg, who told me he was a perfect fit for the material and asked me to trust him.
