How dungeons work in Warcraft Rumble
Dungeons work like normal zone battles, but with some interesting limitations and adjustments.
Dungeons have a specific military family every week, and you can only play the dungeon with a leader from that family. For example, during Horde week you can have an army led by Cairne Bloedhoef, Grommash Hellscreamor Fast. You can still customize which troops you want to bring, but we recommend sticking with troops from a similar family, as many of the dungeon favors offer some family synergy.
Once you select your leader, you can choose a special Relic before entering the first battle. For example the Aegis of battle ensures that all Horde Minis near your leader have a chance to critically hit their targets. You choose a new relic for each battle, which means you have three relics active for the final battle.
To clear a dungeon you must beat three battles in a row without losing once (unless you have a Ankh of the resurrectionwhich you can collect after beating some battles).
Each boss you defeat will earn you a number Arc energy, which allows you to upgrade your minis. When you’ve completed an entire run, you can upgrade the leader you’ve been using and give him a new one bonus XP slot — which gives your units bonus experience if you match the slot with their unit type.
However, every time you complete a run with a specific leader, you increase the difficulty for subsequent runs in the dungeon with that same leader. If things get too hard, consider spreading the love and upgrading another leader in the same family.
At the time of writing, Dire Maul is the only dungeon in it Warcraft Rumble.
