Wander Franco’s homes ‘RAIDED by police’ in Dominican Republic as part of ongoing investigation into $182m MLB star’s alleged inappropriate relationship with a minor

Wander Franco, the Major League Baseball star who allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a minor, reportedly had homes in his native Dominican Republic raided by police on Tuesday.

According to Listin Diario, police visited his parents' home in Palo Blanco before going to his home in the Villa Real neighborhood. The Tampa Bay Rays player, who is currently suspended by the team, was not present at either residence.

The publication also claims that authorities left phone numbers with Franco's wife so he could contact them.

22-year-old Franco has been under investigation since several allegations surfaced on social media in August.

Franco has denied the allegations and went live on his Instagram account when they first emerged to address them.

“They say I have a young girl, that I am running around with an underage,” Franco told his teammates during his live broadcast in Spanish. “How crazy is that, dude? People don't know what to do with their time.

'Those people have to get moving. One is focused here and doing my thing, you see, thanks to God. That's why I prefer to stay on my side and not get involved with anyone, because people gossip so much.'

Tampa Bay signed him to an 11-year contract worth $182 million in November 2021, a deal with a team option for 2033 that could be worth $223 million.

MLB itself placed Franco in administrative league in August as the league conducted its own investigation, which is still ongoing.
