Wally Lewis is rumored to be about to propose to his girlfriend Lynda Adams, but if they do, the soccer legend’s son Lincoln will reportedly not see them walk down the aisle.

The man known to NRL fans as ‘The King’ looked smitten when he was photographed with Adams at Brisbane airport two weeks ago sporting a stunning ring on his right hand.

They became a couple in early 2021, shortly after Lewis announced his divorce from his ex-wife Jacqui after they shared 36 years and three children.

Lewis’s sons Mitchell, Jamie-Lee and former Home and Away star Lincoln reportedly sided with their mother when the breakup of the marriage rocked the football world in February 2021.

Now a proposal could be imminent and the soccer icon’s son wants nothing to do with it, according to Women’s Day.

“Wally wants all of his children and grandchildren to be present at the wedding, but Lincoln has already made it clear that he won’t be there,” the magazine quoted a family member as saying.

His three children barely spoke to the 63-year-old and Lincoln fully backed his mother when their breakup became public in February 2021, the daily telegraph informed.

“Lincoln and his mother have always been very close … he is very much his mother’s son,” a friend told the newspaper.

He has always been open about it with people close to him. It is known that he has said that he was raised by his mother.

The former Brisbane Broncos, Queensland and Kangaroos superstar said he wanted to “acknowledge the pain and upset my family has been through” when his split from Jacqui occurred.

“I hope that in time we can rebuild our ties and move on with life,” he said in a statement.

Lewis left his role as sports presenter for Channel Nine in Queensland in January due to health reasons, saying he would not be leaving the station entirely, but would instead “take more of a supporting role in the studio”.
