In 2021, Wallis made her surprise debut as Ruby Rose’s character Kate Kane in Batwoman..
“It’s a huge responsibility to step into the shoes of a character that’s already been established and it’s a journey that I hope to be a part of and I hope you will too,” he said at the time.
“Everyone has made me feel so welcome and it’s amazing to be back home with my DC family.”
During the show’s first season, Kate became the vigilante Batwoman in Gotham City, but the character ended the series of episodes missing, presumed dead, after a plane crash.
The second season saw Javicia Leslie become the first black actress to play Batwoman on screen after her character, Ryan Wilder, found the famous suit in the wreckage of the plane crash.
Javicia recently admitted that she was “really proud” of the way the show stepped up after Ruby decided to quit.
She told Entertainment Tonight: ‘We worked very hard to recover from what I think people thought would break us. I’m very proud of our team for making magic.’
Australian actress Rose opened up about her decision to leave the show in October 2020, telling Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show that both a back injury and the COVID-19 pandemic made it seem like “the right thing to do.”
