  • Australia have not won since Jones replaced Dave Rennie

Eddie Jones clearly feels the pressure in the run-up to the World Cup in France.

The Wallabies coach lost his cool on Thursday when a tangle of journalists asked him some simple questions.

Australia – which has not won a test since Jones replaced Dave Rennie earlier this year – told reporters what he really felt.

The pressurized mentor—wearing an Akubra hat—declared it was the “worst press conference I’ve ever had.”

It comes as assistant Brad Davis suddenly stopped setting up Wallabies coaching.

Davis was appointed offensive coach by Jones in May, but stepped down just three weeks before the Wallabies World Cup opener against Georgia for personal reasons.

Rugby Australia confirmed that Davis, a former rugby league player and long-time UK coach, would be returning to deal with a personal matter.

Davis was recruited by Jones to London Irish Rugby Club, where he had worked as a defensive coach after working for a string of other major rugby clubs in England after playing 215 games in the UK Super League.

His departure has forced the Wallabies to look for a new offensive coach for the World Cup campaign, which has not started well for Jones.

The Wallabies lost all four matches in the Rugby Championship, including back-to-back defeats to New Zealand.

This weekend there is a World Cup warm-up match against France, the last chance for a victory before the tournament starts in September.
