Waleed Aly very rudely snubs Boy George on The Project after going missing from the show for almost a week: ‘I got a better offer’
Boy George took a very brutal critique from Waleed Aly on Thursday night’s episode of The Project.
The British pop icon, 62, appeared as a panelist alongside hosts Sarah Harris, Hamish Macdonald and Sam Taunton on the Channel 10 show promoting his band Culture Club’s Australian tour, which kicks off this Friday.
Aly, who was noticeably absent from the show this week, made a surprise appearance from London and explained why he was ‘MIA’.
“Honestly, I dumped you because I got a better offer at The Rolling Stones!” he said.
‘I mean yes. I think even you would agree that this is a better offer.’

Aly’s answer was met with shock and horror from both the panel and the audience, while George looked uncomfortably stunned as he searched for an answer.
“I definitely want to be Mick Jagger when I grow up, who wouldn’t?” George said.
George is currently in Australia for his greatest hits tour with Culture Club.
The tour kicks off in Sydney at the Aware Super Theater on Friday, September 8, before heading to Melbourne at the Rod Laver Arena on Saturday.
Culture Club will then depart for Adelaide on Monday, September 11 at the Adelaide Entertainment Center Arena, and their final stop on the tour will be Brisbane on September 14 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Last month it was announced that a company run by George and his Culture Club bandmates have gone bankrupt and are nearly $25 million in debt.
It’s the final blow to the Karma Chameleon star who appeared on I’m A Celebrity UK to help his ailing finances.
New figures show that the company owes the huge amount, but is only expected to have $2.7 million left to pay those who owe the money.
Mishpocha Touring LLP, which was founded in 2019 by George and bandmates Mikey Craig and Roy Hay, went into receivership after they failed to repay a $4.7 million loan.
New York MEP Capital Holdings demanded the loan back when it learned of the band’s financial squabbles with ex-drummer Jon Moss, who owed $3.4 million.

But when Boy George’s company was unable to pay, the U.S. bank contacted London lawyers to appoint trustees.
A trustee’s report shows US gig promoters Live Nation, among others, owe $19 million, accountants SRLV $221,000, and even the band’s publicity team $47,838.
The report said the bank “will run a deficit,” and they estimate that the others who owe money will get just 0.05 cents for every $2 they owe.
HMRC owes more than $58,000 in VAT and PAYE but is expected to recover all money owed, the report said.
It’s the final blow to Boy George, who saw another company – Other Places Drama LLP – go into liquidation, with receivers seizing $635,125 in assets to pay back ex-bandmate Moss.
The money was part of an Individual Voluntary Agreement (IVA), which would give the singer more time to pay his share of a $3.4 million payout to former Culture Club bandmate Jon Moss and avoid bankruptcy.
Last year, Boy George appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here for $978,000, and in recent weeks the band has embarked on a 25-date US tour.
