- The first new Waitrose store in six years will open in Hampton Hill this year
Waitrose plans to open 100 new supermarkets over the next five years, the John Lewis Partnership announced on Wednesday.
The 100 new, smaller neighbourhood stores are part of the group’s £1bn investment in new stores and refurbishments.
The group said the first new Waitrose store in six years will open later this year in Hampton Hill, south-west London, with a second store at an undisclosed location in London following early next year.

The group will also renovate 150 existing stores over the next three years, almost half of its total store base.
The group’s John Barnes store in Finchley Road, London, is being used to test new store concepts.
