Waitress who was slammed in a 1-star review by a family with a ‘screaming child’ prints the complaint onto a T-shirt – and now wears it as a uniform

A disgruntled waitress who received a one-star review from a family who accused her of treating them like ‘crap’ turned their complaint into a hilarious joke.

Daniella Claeys, who works in a restaurant in London, decided to have the family’s blistering review, which promises they will never return to the establishment, printed on a white T-shirt, which quickly became part of her work clothes.

While the 24-year-old, who was named as Dani in the scathing review, narrated Wales Online that was ‘openly uncomfortable’ about the ‘disruption’ caused by the family’s ‘screaming toddler’. It wasn’t until she saw the review the next day that she realized how angry the mother was.

Daniella, from Tottenham, London, admitted that the comments in the November 2023 review had upset her, but said she quickly saw the funny side of the situation and decided to order the £20 T-shirt.

Daniella wore the top to work and shared a video of herself on TikTok with the negative review on her chest, which has now been viewed 2.9 million times.

She then went to work wearing the T-shirt and filmed a clip for TikTok, which was viewed 2.9 million times

The clip, captioned ‘You’ve been served xx’, shows a smiling Daniella holding a tray in her hands, while on-screen text says: ‘If you get a one star review because you’re a bad waitress, fix then a top of it’.

The full review on the T-shirt reads: ‘We will never come back!!! In this restaurant the staff made us feel so uncomfortable that a waitress named Dani suggested to the manager to let us sit outside in the cold when our baby was crying because she had a headache, she didn’t bother to hide her discomfort and looked at us like we were rubbish we obviously left the restaurant straight away. Very not family friendly atmosphere there, don’t bother going with kids’.

The family had given a one-star rating for each of four categories: ‘likelihood to recommend’, ‘atmosphere’, ‘food and drink’ and ‘value for money’.

Reflecting on her behaviour, which so outraged critics, she told Wales Online that she is ‘serving 14 hours a day’ and therefore admits that ‘the chances of me doing something wrong are quite high’.

Many TikTokers raved about her bold response to the harsh comments, calling it “the best thing,” while others sided with the family.

Daniella, who has worked as a waitress for 12 years, said: ‘I was very upset at the time. I never want anyone to feel uncomfortable.

“But then I sent it to everyone I knew and put it on my Instagram. Everyone thought it was so funny. I made it into a T-shirt because I just wanted to laugh about it. I know I shouldn’t have reacted so much, but on a T-shirt it’s damn funny.”

TikTokers were quick to praise Daneilla’s bold response in the comments section below her post

A fellow TikToker commented on Daniella’s post: ‘Our generation is so not serious and I love it!! I hope they see this tiktok’.

A second added: ‘I need a close up that’s the best thing I’ve ever seen.’

Others shared similar experiences, with one commenting: “I got a survey back calling me a ‘female waste of space’ so I made an inspirational poster out of it and put it on my desk.”

Another user said: ‘A customer said I was worse than a Jet 2 flight attendant so my dad spilled a drink on him and blamed it on the turbulence.’
