A Waffle House employee has criticized the popular restaurant chain, claiming she was fired after recording a viral TikTok video at an Atlanta branch.
Yadira Ramirez’s account blew up after she filmed herself and colleagues performing Latto’s song “Brokey” during their shift — a trend that caught on after the rapper promised $10,000 to the fan who posted the best video.
The clip of the colleagues syncing the rap while washing dishes, eating waffles and handing out cash on September 19 has been viewed 28.2 million times so far.
But it also had unintended consequences, as Ramirez revealed in a video posted the next day that she had been fired after six years of service.

“I just got fired because of that video of Big Latto’s challenge,” Ramirez revealed.
“Yes, I’m glad I put six years into a company that was going to fire me and literally… a day where I posted one video, one video, that didn’t hurt anyone, that everyone was actually literally advocating for and happy with , but whatever. .
“Smart decision, smart move, you know. And then they put me on it, it’s called an EFR list or something, basically I can never be rehired again.’
Ramirez’s Latto dance video begins with her coworker, wearing a red Waffle House hat, squirting a hose at the camera.
He then switches from the restaurant to the drive-thru counter, where another colleague displays a stack of cash collected from customers during lip sync.

According to Ramirez’s TikTok, she worked at one of the Waffle Houses in Atlanta, Georgia.
In subsequent TikTok updates, she said she was fired by a manager who was present at the time of the video recording but not involved.
Days later, however, the tables turned again for Ramirez, when her videos appeared to catch the attention of Latto herself, who met the fired employee.
Ramirez posted a video of herself dancing with Latto on her TikTok – with Ramirez in a red dress throwing dollar bills as Latto twerked next to her.
