Camillo, Perth: Heart-stopping moment police officers jump a fence to arrest alleged home invasion suspect

Dramatic bodycam footage has captured the moment police chase and arrest an armed suspect following an alleged early morning home invasion.

The footage, released by Western Australia Police, shows officers responding to the incident in Camillo, in Perth’s south-east, about 3.30am on Saturday.

The police car thundered through the dark streets with its siren blaring as officers chased the suspects of an alleged home burglary.

Then you see an officer checking an empty car on the street and saying, “The suspect abandoned the vehicle.”

The officer then ran over the fence and climbed into the backyard of a house, where he himself climbed through the dense undergrowth.

In the yard he was confronted by a man wearing dark clothing and a balaclava and holding something that appeared to be a weapon.

“Drop that gun now or I will taser you,” the officer can be heard shouting at the man.

After a second officer arrived, the two pinned the suspect to the ground, with one of them yelling at the suspect, “Stay still or I’ll taser you. Hands behind your back, now.”

The shocking images are part of an investigation into the alleged home invasion.

Police believe two men, one armed with a knife and one with a firearm, entered a house on Natasha Way and threatened the three residents before stealing a number of items.

“The perpetrators stole a Ford Falcon sedan and left the area,” police said in a statement on Saturday afternoon.

It is also alleged that the stolen vehicle was spotted by police in Thornlie at around 3.50am and the vehicle drove off.

‘Police followed the vehicle and a short time later the vehicle stopped on Greenway Avenue in Thornlie. The male occupant of the car fled on foot before being arrested and taken into custody.

‘The firearm believed to have been used during this incident was located on Clancy Way in Thornlie and has been seized by police.’
