A man on the run from the police shook hands with them after he was found strangely hiding behind a large piece of art in a house.
In the hilarious clip, Perth officers are seen going through the posh Palmyra home room by room last Saturday, looking for a wanted man ‘with outstanding warrants for his arrest’.
After searching the garage, an officer stops to carefully examine a large pop art print of Marilyn Monroe, before removing it from the living room wall.
Behind the artwork was a small hidden space where a shirtless man had been hiding.
In the hilarious clip, Perth officers are seen going through the posh Palmyra home room by room last Saturday, looking for a wanted man ‘with outstanding warrants for his arrest’.
“Good morning,” the man said before he and the officers broke into laughter.
The man is then seen shaking the hands of the two officers, as if congratulating them on their find.
The video was posted to social media by Western Australia Police on Saturday morning, captioned ‘Hide and Seek: Police Edition’, complete with an upbeat song over it.
After the officer manages to remove the large print from the wall, a hidden space is revealed behind it, and a man steps out to greet the officers.
In an amusing ending to the clip, the man, who WA Police say was wanted on outstanding warrants, shakes hands with two officers who found him.
“Palmyra Police had been conducting investigations looking for a man with outstanding warrants for his arrest,” the video description read.
“A line of investigation led officers to an address in the southern suburbs where they searched the home and located the man in a stall behind wall art.”
WA Police social media followers showed their appreciation for the clip in the comments.
“I love how they laugh and shake hands, good watch.”
One commenter said the “lack of escalation” was impressive.
