Vogue Williams says social media is finally getting easier to navigate with less ‘negativity’ directed towards mum influencers
Vogue Williams has said that social media is finally easier to navigate, with less ‘negativity’ aimed at mum influencers.
Model and presenter Vogue, 38, spoke exclusively to MailOnline about social media and said she now carefully chooses which brands she works with, and that ‘mum-shaming’ has gotten a lot better on her channels.
“Strangely, over the last few years, I’ve noticed there’s a lot less negativity online,” she said.
“For me, I just don’t listen to what I do hear. I’m happy and so are my children, and that’s the most important thing.
‘It has only gotten better in recent years. I am always super careful about who and with whom I work.

She said: ‘Strangely enough, over the last few years I’ve noticed there’s a lot less negativity online. For me, I just don’t listen to what I get. I am happy and so are my children and that is the most important thing’

‘It’s really important to be authentic and promote things you like and would use.
‘Because people buy things you recommend. So if it doesn’t work or you don’t like it, it’s basically cheating.”
Vogue said she has started her own book club in an effort to get more people reading.
She said reading is very important in her household and she and husband Spencer Matthews, 35, try to encourage their three children to read as much as possible.
She said: ‘Reading is so important in my house, we all read.
“My son Otto, even though he’s not yet two, goes and gets a book, just throws it at someone and then sits down and wants people to read to him.
‘Every evening I read Goosebumps to Theodore and he loves to sit and read with us.
‘Me and Spenny also like to read. I just finished I Am Pilgrim, which almost sent me over the edge.

“I’m about to start a book club on my social media. Every time I post about what I’m reading, there’s such a community of people reading online that I always get messages back.
‘We’ll start with Elizabeth Day, Friendaholic.
“And in three weeks we’ll do an Instagram live and talk about the book.
“It’s just a good way to get back into reading.”
Ahead of World Book Day this Thursday, the influencer has teamed up with Trainline to create her own children’s costumes, inspired by their favorite train-related book characters.
Theodore, five, is dressing up as Harry Potter this year.
Three-year-old Gigi is going as Paddington bear and because Otto is only one, he will dress up from home.
Research from Trainline shows that 27 percent of children consider themselves bookworms who read at least daily, while 74 percent say they read weekly.
And as families across the country begin planning their World Book Day costumes, more than half of parents admitted they find the process stressful. Nearly a third of them said spending money on costumes is the most stressful part.
Vogue said: ‘You find yourself wandering around, looking for a costume or buying something that isn’t that great. To take the stress out, you can get some things from home.
“Gigi loved it and it gave us an hour to do something. And Theodore, who doesn’t even like arts and crafts, loved it and is completely convinced of Harry Potter.
‘I don’t think it’s possible to always have it together.
‘What is important to me is making sure the children are happy.
‘I like to organize fun things for them and we are always on the road.
“I just want them to live a very happy life.”
