Vogue publisher Conde Nast is leaving the historic Mayfair office after 65 years to modernize

Fashion publisher Conde Nast is leaving his Mayfair office after 65 years as it appears to be modernizing.

The publishing giant is moving from the seven-story Vogue House in Hanover Square to its Adelphi office in Embankment. The move could take place in January next year.

“Leaving Vogue House will be difficult,” bosses told staff. “After many attempts to find a way to expand and rearrange the space to meet our needs, there were just too many challenges to be able to do this.”

Church of England-owned Vogue House has been a focal point for the fashion bible, seeing everyone from model Kate Moss to Princess Diana grace its halls.

As the headquarters of British Vogue, it’s also where American Vogue editor-in-chief and industry icon Anna Wintour (pictured with British Vogue boss Edward Enninful) began her career.

The media powerhouse, who also publishes titles The New Yorker and GQ, said his move reflects an “exciting evolution and transformation.”

The private company turned a profit in 2021 with a turnover of £1.6 billion.
