Virgin Australia has canceled five flights as travelers face delays and massive crowds piling up at Sydney Airport for a sixth day in a row.
It is understood that the airline canceled scheduled flights from Sydney Airport on Tuesday due to operational reasons.
Sydney Airport has been overwhelmed with passengers trying to board a flight after several days of persistent cancellations and delays.
On Monday, 18 domestic flights landed at Sydney Airport – Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, the Gold Coast and Griffith, among others, were all cancelled.
A further 13 scheduled flights from Sydney were cancelled, with destinations including Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart and the Gold Coast affected.
An airport spokesperson said the cancellations are a knock-on effect of the weather-related disruptions that occurred over the weekend.
