Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk appeared to give Man United’s Joshua Zirkzee the cold shoulder during an awkward moment while the pair were on international duty.
The Netherlands started the Nations League season on Saturday with a 5-2 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Van Dijk was the captain of his team and the fans saw something happen in the players’ tunnel before both teams entered the field.
The central defender shook hands with all his teammates, but chose to avoid Zirkzee.

Neither man even looked at the other and some claim this is due to the rivalry within their club.
The international match came six days after Liverpool beat United at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Van Dijk is also captain of Liverpool, while Zirkzee signed for United in the summer.

Both men started the important match at Old Trafford, but only Van Dijk will go home with a satisfied feeling.
However, any suggestions of serious tension between the players were swept aside when they embraced after Zirkzee had opened the scoring.
