Vinicius Junior reveals he uses a hyperbaric chamber to prevent injury and speed up recovery

Hype Vinicius Junior feels the pressure ahead of Real Madrid’s huge Champions League clash with Manchester City as the Brazilian reveals he uses a hyperbaric chamber to prevent injury and speed up recovery

Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr. will be in tip-top shape for tonight’s blockbuster against Manchester City – thanks in part to his hyperbaric chamber.

The Brazilian, pictured earlier this week, spends up to 90 minutes in his personal treatment capsule after a match or training to speed recovery and prevent injury.

Hyperbaric chambers – costing a whopping £100,000 – increase the air pressure inside the device, forcing the user’s lungs to collect up to 15 times more oxygen.

Former Real Madrid captains Raul and Sergio Ramos both pioneered its use in Spain and the recovery technique is now popular with marathon runners, padel players and many professional footballers.

The Spanish giants will defend their Champions League crown against rampant Manchester City, who have set their sights on a historic treble.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side warmed up for the semi-final first leg at the Bernabeu with a 2–1 victory over Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final, with Vinicius playing a key role in the win.

The 22-year-old set up two goals for Brazilian team-mate Rodrygo as Real celebrated their cup win – something they hope to repeat with another European Cup win in Istanbul next month.

Real’s overcrowded schedule is partly why Vinicius has used a hyperbaric chamber in preparation for the big upcoming Champions League encounters with Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Vinicius is on his way to his best goalscoring season to date, having already matched his previous season’s 22 goals, including winning the Champions League final against Liverpool.
