Vin Diesel accused of shading Wicked after presenting cast with award
It seems Vin Diesel wasn’t a fan of Wicked – fans have accused him of shading the film when he presented the cast with the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.
The actor, 57, took to the stage at the ceremony, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, to read the nominees and present the award.
However, when he opened the envelope, which revealed the winner of the category, he appeared to chuckle and sigh before reading out Wicked as the winner.
He even appeared to throw his hands in the air with the envelope before announcing who won.
And whatever he thought of the movie, fans on X certainly took note of his less-than-excited reaction.
“Why Vin Diesel is shading Wicked so much,” one person wrote.
Another agreed: ‘Vin Diesel going “tsk” when he read the winner was so unprofessional, lol, what a loser.’
‘Obviously Vin Diesel didn’t want Wicked to win the box office prize. Too bad, so sad!’ someone else typed.

However, Vin Diesel wasn’t the only one presenting an award that evening.
Other presenters included Melissa McCarthy, Awkwafina and Andrew Garfield.
This year’s nominees include some of the biggest hits, such as Challengers, Deadpool & Wolverine, Twisters, Wicked and The Brutalist.
Actors up for awards include Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo for their respective roles in Wicked, while Selena Gomez is nominated for her role in the film Emilia Pérez.
Other names include Timothée Chalamet, who is joined by his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, and Denzel Washington, who is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture when he took on the role of Macrinus in Gladiator II.
The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White won Best Television Actor – Musical/Comedy Series, while Baby Rendeer’s Jessica Gunning took home the award for Best Supporting Actress – Television.
Demi Moore also took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for her role in The Substance.
