Vikings $140million star receiver Justin Jefferson reveals why he stays in modest Minnesota townhouse

Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson may be the highest-paid receiver in NFL history, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to waste money on unnecessary real estate.

As revealed in the ongoing Netflix series Receiver, Jefferson lived in a modest Minneapolis mansion during production of the series in 2023.

Since filming wrapped, Jefferson has signed a four-year, $140 million contract, making him $35 million annually — more than any wideout in football.

Remarkably, the 25-year-old is in no hurry to spend his growing fortune on a new estate, as he explained to reporters upon arriving at training camp this week.

“I’m one person, I don’t have a big family,” said Jefferson, who is the father of a daughter. “I don’t need to live in a $10 million mansion, that’s not where I come from.

“I grew up with parents who were grateful for what they had, and I was grateful for what I grew up with,” Jefferson continued. “I never grew up without a big old house, maybe I’ll go there, maybe I won’t. I guess we’ll find out sooner or later.”

Jefferson grew up in Louisiana, where he later became a star for the LSU football team. His parents, John and Elaine Jefferson, are regulars on the Netflix series.

The NFL Films project will follow five NFL pass catchers throughout the 2023 season: Jefferson, Las Vegas Raiders receiver Davante Adams, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, his teammate, receiver Deebo Samuel and Detroit Lions star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The new series follows a similar project from NFL Films titled “Quarterback,” which offered a behind-the-scenes look at passers like Patrick Mahomes II.

The best thing about Receiver, according to Jefferson, is the trash talking that took place while he was under the influence of a microphone during games.

“I think everybody’s favorite clip is the Detroit game when I was just cussing and playing my ball,” Jefferson said, as quoted by Fox 9 from Minneapolis“Just so people could get a peek behind the scenes, how we interact in game-like situations, the emotions and the competitive spirit. People really got to see that.”

Earlier this month, Jefferson was determined to be the father of a girl, according to an order from a New Jersey family court judge.

The order, issued on June 26 by Judge Aldo J Russo and obtained by DailyMail.com, states that a “temporary maintenance obligation” has been agreed upon between Jefferson and the child’s mother, Andrea Galea.

As DailyMail.com reported in February, Galea accused Jefferson of pressuring her to abort the child after she became pregnant in 2023. His attorney declined to comment on that allegation to DailyMail.com at the time. Galea decided to have the child and gave birth to baby Stella in December, according to her paternity suit.

In their counterclaims filed in January, both Jefferson and Galea requested a paternity test. Galea also pressed for financial support and health insurance from Jefferson.

An attorney for Jefferson declined to comment when contacted by DailyMail.com, while Galea’s representatives did not respond to questions.

Judge Russo’s order set a framework for some recent visits, requiring both parents to maintain contact regarding the child and even allowing the All-Pro to FaceTime with his young daughter when she and her mother recently took a trip to Italy.

Galea is a graduate of the University of Miami Law School and previously attended LSU with Jefferson.

The two began a romantic relationship in 2019 but grew apart and got back together in April 2023, according to her paternity lawsuit filed on Jan. 19. In April 2023, Galea alleged that Jefferson was the father of her daughter.

In his January complaint against Galea, Jefferson sought a court order prohibiting her from sharing information about the child on social media.

Although Galea is still active on social media, her Instagram page has not published a photo of Stella since May 5.

Jefferson, the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, is a powerhouse for the Vikings.

As a pro, he averaged 98.3 receiving yards per game, which is the best in NFL history. Jefferson has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was named the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year.

Jefferson missed seven games last season due to injury for the Vikings team, which replaced quarterback Kirk Cousins with free-agent Sam Darnold and rookie JJ McCarthy.
