Viewers left ‘speechless’ at video in which women in Japan say they don’t think it’s cheating if their male partner pays a prostitute for sex
Westerners have been left speechless after a survey of heterosexual women in Japan found they did not mind if their male partners had sex with prostitutes.
The revelation came in a YouTube video from content creator Takashi, who strives to show viewers the side of “Japan that the media fails to capture.”
In doing so, he took to the streets of Tokyo to ask women a question: “Is prostitution considered cheating?”
As the YouTubers saw the women on the street, it became clear that most of them don’t mind if their partners pay other women for sex – and in some cases, they even prefer it.
THE videowhich garnered over seven million views, left Western viewers “speechless” and in a state of disbelief.
Takashi, a Japanese content creator, revealed that some Japanese women do not consider sex with a prostitute to be cheating.
Translated and subtitled from Japanese to English, Takashi speaks to a selection of women to gather a range of perspectives on Japan’s cheating culture.
In every conversation, Takashi simply asks, “Does prostitution count as cheating?”
The two first ladies agreed: “It doesn’t count as cheating.”
They continued, “I wouldn’t want them to have feelings for that one, but I don’t care if it’s just for sex,” before bursting out laughing.
Her friend added: “I’d rather they go to a prostitute than random girls.”
Takashi then approached two other women, but this time they had divergent views.
One of them said: “It’s true, I don’t understand why they want to go to a prostitute. »
But her friend disagreed and said: “That’s not the case. It’s not good if they hide it. As long as there are no feelings for prostitutes.
Many women said they would accept their partner looking for a prostitute, and one said it was “part of Japanese culture.”
More than 20,000 viewers took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the video, with one calling it “crazy.”
Takashi continued with the next group where the views were similar. One woman agreed: “It doesn’t count as cheating if they don’t hide it.”
“I told my boyfriend ‘go to a prostitute if you want to cheat’, it doesn’t matter if he pays money.”
The next person chimed in and said, “It doesn’t count as cheating if there’s a valid reason” such as “camaraderie.”
